Sprung

Blazer: Courtesy of Storets. Bag: Balenciaga (huge selection here).
Watch: Michael KorsDress: LF (good alternative here).
Boots: Courtesy of Kandee.

Will I ever get bored of these boots?! Doubt it.

This jacket is a welcome addition to the Ring My Bell closet. It seems to pull even the most casual of outfits together.

'Revenge' finally aired on abc this week. The whole cast watched it together with our breath collectively held. I'm so pleased with the finished product!

Mountain

T.Shirt: ASOS. Jeans: TopShop.
Bag: Chanel. Sandals: River Island.

I don't know what I'm going to do when these jeans finally wear out. They are the perfect shade of blue and I haven't seen a pair of blue jeans that I like as much for a very long time... I'm already starting to mourn their demise!

I started filming 'Revenge' this week. I had a real "pinch me" moment as I was driving myself to work on my first day :)

FAQ

This is a snap of where I spend most of my time at the moment: My trailer. Actors get paid to wait around, the acting we do for free.... I can't remember who said that, if anyone knows let me know. It's so true!

Since outfit posts will be few and far between until the boy gets out to North Carolina (one week and counting!) I thought now would be the perfect time to finally do that long promised FAQ post...

*How would you describe your style?
Un-committed. I find it hard to stick to any one style. I love trying new things and get inspired by magazines, street stye and other blogs all the time so I'm always changing it up. I do have a penchant for anything studded, leather, patent or leopard!

*What are you wardrobe staples?
Leather jacket, skinny jeans and good t.shirt. I wear my Miu Miu shoes (both loafers and heels) a lot.

*Most expensive item in your closet?
My Chanel bag.

*Most wanted item?
I'm on the look out for a small vintage Chanel bag. Preferably in red.

*Favorite designer?
It changes every season but Alexander Wang has loads of stuff that I want/need.

*Do you prefer highstreet or designer?
Both! With vintage mixed in :)

*How much do you spend on clothes?
Depends on the month and what I'm up to. I'm not afraid to splurge on items that I feel will last and bring a lot to my wardrobe. For example my Miu Miu shoes. They were expensive but I wear them LOTS and they go with everything! My Chanel bag will be with me forever and it will only get better with age!

*What are your favorite places to shop in London?
My absolute favorite shop is Liberty. I could (and often do) spend all day in there. It's filled with lots of gorgeous things and is less stressful then Selfridges. I always have time for TopShop in Oxford circus. I like to go at 10am midweek. It's always quiet and they have more stock :)

*What are your favorite place to shop in LA?
I like LF on Robertson for casual everyday items and I love Decades on melrose for special vintage. The vintage market on the corner of Melrose and Fairfax is also really good. I get all my vintage levi shorts from there.

*Favorite fragrance?
I have three that I love. Chanel 'Beige', Frederic Malle 'Lipstick Rose' and Chloe 'Love'.

*Are you sponsored by any brands?
No. Several brands give me items to wear on the blog but I only wear items that I actually like and really want to wear. If I've been given something for free I will alway put "courtesy of..." If I'm sent something and I love it then of course I say so.

*Which camera do you use?
The boy takes the majority of the blog pictures using a Canon 5D. I edit all pictures in iPhoto.

*Which blogs do you read?
I adore Andy's Style Scrapbook and Sabrina's afterDRK. Other favorite's include Fade to Black and Made By Girl. I follow around 50 blogs.

*Why don't you update everyday?
Because I have a job! If I'm not filming then I'm auditioning or preparing for auditions. Ring My Bell is my baby and I love doing it but acting pays my bills :)

*How did you become an actress?
I always knew what I wanted to do and I followed through. I went to acting and drama classes as a teenager and eventually went to the only free performing arts school in England,The BRIT school. I attended open auditions and got a job from one of them which in turn got me an agent.

I always believed in the need to train fully as an actor so when I was old enough I auditioned for several drama schools and was lucky enough to get into RADA.  I go out on auditions every week.

*Will there be anymore episodes of 'The Beautiful Life'?
No. Sorry!

*How tall are you?
5,8"

*Do you smoke?
No. And I never will.

*Which ethnicity are you?
I am mixed raced. My father is half Swiss, half Nigerian, born in England and my mother is English.

*How do you maintain your figure?
I go to Bikram yoga 2-3 times a week and I eat healthily for most of the week. I always let myself have one day where I eat whatever I like and that's usually a burger and fries.... or pizza... or bagels..... or apple pie.... mmmmmmm

*How do you get loose waves/curls in your hair?
I use a ghd straightening iron and this video on the ghd website here shows exactly what I do.

*Which hair extensions to you use?
I use a 'full head' set of clip in extensions so that I don't have to commit to them for too long and they are less damaging on my own hair. I usually buy my extensions from Head Kandy and have mostly been very happy with them... although the last set were not up to their usual standard so I may have to find a new place.

Hiatus

I don't usually care much for American Vogue but they've had two hot covers in a row now. Lady Gaga last month and now Rihanna. I'm still not crazy about the red hair but I love this cover so much that I'm willing to over look it.

I'm now out in North Carolina to shoot my pilot so I'm unfortunately on an outfit post hiatus until I get back to LA and the photography skills of the boy next month. In the mean time I'll try to sneak some tweet pics of my costumes for you here :)

Wild Horses

Shorts, Sweatshirt and Shoes: Urban Outfitters - All costume from 'Bedlam'.

More DIY shots from the iPhone... I'm missing the boy's photo shoots as much as you believe me!

The detail isn't great in these shots but these red shoes are lovely! The buckle is made up of horses. Neigh! I'm tempted to get another pair in black.

Playful

Playsuit: Urban Outfitters. Cardigan: Topshop. Head Band: Primark.
Satchel: Urban Outfitters. Loafers: TopShop.

Not having the boy (or the time!) for full photo shoots has made me resourceful!  I've installed the hipstamatic app on my iPhone and I'm showing you guys my costumes for Bedlam.

I like to work really closely with the costume designer and find a look that both feels right for the character and also still looks current and fresh. For the character of Molly we've gone with a lots of layers and flirty florals- very different from my own personal style but there are definitely pieces that I want to steal and make my own!

Victim

Kevin is wearing; Carrot jeans: TopMan. Shirt: American Apparel.
T.Shirt: Own design. Sneakers: Puma. Bracelet: Gucci

I am wearing; Dress: Vintage. Belt: Gucci (vintage). Loafers: TopShop.

Kevin and the boy came to visit me on the set of 'Victim'. The dress I'm wearing is part of my costume.

Kevin is one of my oldest and closet friends. I love these pictures of us because our body language is so warm, you can tell that we spend practically all our time laughing when we are together. There is an ease between us that has grown over a decade of friendship. As well as making me howl with laughter he also has impeccable style ;)

I can finally tell you more about my new TV show.... it's a series that I'm shooting in Manchester called 'Bedlam'. I won't ruin it for you but I will say that the scripts are very spooky and I got quite scared reading them!

Candy Cane

Skirt: American Apparel. Cotton blouse: American Apparel.
Studded pumps: Brian Atwood.

The second I saw this skirt in American Apparel I knew it had to be mine. It's such a cute shape! I'm going to enjoy wearing it this summer. The studded shoes were my 'yay I got a job' present to myself. I adore them. Seriously, the first day I brought them home I kept taking them out the box and admiring them. I have a wedding in May and I already know that these shoes will be the base of the outfit and everything else will have to work around them.

All of the comments on the 'from me to you' post are amazing. You really do all sound like awesome people. It's making it very hard for me to choose!

This week I'll be busy with 'The Pink House'. I'm really enjoying the process of doing a multi camera pilot. We will be rehearsing all this week and then on friday we'll do the live taping. Eeeeeeek!

P.s Hello Christina!
Christina is my manager and I keep telling her I'll put her in the blog... I need a picture of you!
Just found out how to make a gif. Beyond excited!

Oooh La La

Crop Top: H&M-self cropped. Skirt: American Apparel. Chunky Socks: Gap.
Boots: Top Shop. Lipstick: MAC red

Another little insight to share with all my aspiring actor readers: There are no weekends during pilot season! I have had meetings on saturdays and sundays. I actually think this can sometimes be a good thing because it means that A: There is very little traffic, and B: You get to drive right onto the studio lot and not just park in the parking structure on the edge and walk 4 miles to the building that you need.

This saturday I had a meeting on the Fox lot. I got to drive straight to my building AND I drove right through a New York street scene. I was so excited I actually squealed! I cant help it, I'm a nerd and those are the things I think are cool :)

I don't watch the Oscar's because all I care about are the dresses and who won but I was lucky enough to be in the living room while the boy was watching at THE exact moment that Monique won her award... thus I got to see Samuel L Jackson's magnificent side eye live!

Nowhere to stop on Mulholland Drive

Dress: LF. Jacket: TopShop, studded by moi. Boots: TopShop.
Denim shorts: TopShop. Purse: Chanel

I snagged this dress in the LF sale. It's totally see through but I don't let that stop me- denim shorts with some lace layering and I'm good to go! Me and the boy wanted to take pictures up on Mulholland Drive but as the title suggests there wasn't anywhere to stop. Every place we found had other cars parked there and I felt like it was too spooky! We took these on Sunset Blvd instead....  although now I'm looking at them we could have been anywhere!

Sooooo tired this week. I don't think my brain can hold any more lines! I've decided the best way to sum up pilot season is that it's like going to work all day but without getting paid. Still.... I'm glad to be doing it :)
